Children & Young People Programme
Whispering Well’s Therapeutic Support for Wellbeing and Access to Learning programmes.
These transitional or maintenance programmes are designed to address anxiety and the struggle to make positive connections with self and the environment. They set out to redress previous negative educational experiences and to set the young person on the road to regular school attendance and positive learning engagement.
After a term or two it is hoped that young participants are getting ready to move on to or increase school attendance, whether it be in mainstream or special school, including Welden School – vacancy dependent.
Whispering Well is available to offer bespoke therapeutic support to Welden students from induction throughout their time at the school.
Please refer to a detailed exposition of our purpose and description of our programmes under the heading “ Policies and Procedures”.
Education Other Than At School
For a small number of children/young people, who remain in a position where they are unable to access education within a school/college, Whispering Trees offers part-time (up to 15 hours per week) education under our EOTAS scheme. EOTAS combines our Whispering Well programme with the teaching of functional skills, P.S.H.E, life & work skills and choice of study area.
Whispering Trees and the Wellbeing Space
N.B With the exception of family group participation and supervised community projects and events Whispering Trees will be open to pre-16 children and adults on different days.
